The new Alaska Consolidated Northern Expo Consolidated Railways System will include elements of the Canadian Pacific, the Alaska Railroad, and resurrected passenger lines from the BNSF: The ATSF, Great Northern, the original Burlington (CB & Q) and the Northern Pacific.  It will also feature the Milwaukee Road which was picked up by the Soo Line, which in turn was absorbed by Canadian Pacific.  Additionally, the AmTrak Railroad will be operating along this same line.

Here you see a map based on recent proposals for rail extensions into Alaska and beyond into Siberia. The red line represents the new ALCANEX.  You can even locate the mythical junction town of Cicely which offers a rail connection to the restored CRNW Railway into the Wrangell St. Elias National Park and once again down the Copper River to meet Cordova--the original CRNW port. There is also an extension of the Klondike Mines Railway from Whitehorse to Dawson. The original KMR was narrow gauge, but  the new combination mining railroad and tourist passenger line becomes standard gauge to accommodate the modern equipment of the recent railroad extensions.

Elements of most all of this will be represented in some way on my Copper Rail Depot indoor/outdoor model railway.
