Here are
two grainy images of the site before the tram was fully operational with the
second view looking down in the direction of the tram. As you can see, the
first tram head was very rudimentary.
Those are mining engineers taking samples of the slide area. This was loaded
with broken up ore of varying degrees of richness. Much of this slide was
eventually scooped up and sent down the tram line.
