The location of the Copper Rail Depot is 100 road miles north of Valdez; 205 road miles east of Anchorage; and roughly 150 road miles southwest of Tok, the gateway to the ALCAN Highway which links the lower 48 states to Alaska by way of  Canada. The Copper Rail Depot property is situated on the north bank of the Klutina River as seen on the map below. The Klutina River is a major king salmon fishing river, approximately 150 feet wide at the point where the property faces it. To the east, less than 1/2 mile is the confluence of the Klutina with the Copper River. Have you ever heard of the Copper River reds ? Who hasn't ? Well, THAT is what spawns in great numbers up the Klutina River in June, July and August each year !
