2008-2011 KMR proposals
Updated 2008 project map showing Phase III proposed line in dark brown overlain by 2011 proposal in light gray. Dotted gray area represents area where both track proposals coincide.

The 2011 proposal extends from the Sulphur Springs Wye to a point just beyond the Old Inn Wye but does not include provisions for historic reconstruction of any parts of Klondike City and Dawson City.

It was deemed necessary to use wider curves and longer runs, particularly in the Sulphur Springs area, because this segment will be used by the mainline ALCANEX railroad as a turn-around.  A Segment of the Phase III line will have to pass under the East Loop near Cantwell Junction in order to allow sufficient room for a wider curve for one of the larger engines to be used in the new KMR narrow gauge segment.
